2016/17 FPL FIXTURE LIST: The First Ten Fixtures By Club

Dinner has been served, and now the Premier League community waits patiently at the table for their main course to be served. 2016 has been a summer of international football, with the European Championships and the 100 year anniversary of the Copa America taking centre stage. Fixtures for the brand-less 2016/17 Premier League season was released on June 15th 2016, and enough time has elapsed for Fantasy Premier League pundits to plot their path to victory (or demise, most likely) in the forthcoming season. The Hype Train takes a club-by-club look at the fixture list, with a Graphical Aid looking at the first 10 fixtures to be played by each club.

Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 1

For the 2016/17 Premier League season, the FPL deadline will be one hour before the commencement of the week's first game. The Premier League website lists each FPL deadline, you can always ask on social media, and you can also view a real time countdown on our Weekly Hype page.

The transfer deadline for GW1 is August 13th at 11:45am.

Graphical Aid: The First 10 Fixtures by Club

The first week of the FPL is never the most determining week of the season, but often picking the right mix of points and potential certainly helps you rocket out of the gate. In the 2015/16 season, Jamie Vardy and eventual Player of the Season, Riyad Mahrez, came storming out of the gate. Wes Hoolahan found early season form, as did Man City's defence, whilst Man United's Wayne Rooney and Memphis Depay struggled despite a mass of pre-season backing.

Each new season throws in its curve-balls, and the 2016/17 season is likely to be no different. Even if we think we know everything, the laws are usually rewritten. Leicester City are Champions. Newcastle were comfortably relegated despite a last gasp surge of points and fight under Rafa Benitez. Fixture planning goes a long way in determining success in the Fantasy Premier League, and we are rooting out the good from the bad so players aren't left in the mud from the get go.
