FPL FORECAST 2016/17: Gameweek 9
Each and every week the three members of The Hype Team post their Premier League and FPL predictions in an attempt to enlighten players that might be stuck with their FPL choices and transfers. In addition, we’ll be taking on a guest for every Gameweek in the PL. On the weekly agenda are a general predictions category, a Gameweek Fantasy Premier League forecast, scout picks, and captaincy choices. For the opening weekend of the season, we welcome TBA as our very first guest. All aboard.
Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 9 Deadline
For the 2016/17 Premier League season, the FPL deadline will be one hour before the commencement of the week's first game. The Premier League website lists each FPL deadline, you can always ask on social media, and you can also view a real time countdown on our Weekly Hype page.
In a change from last season, the early Saturday kick off time has now been moved back to 12:30am, meaning the weekly FPL deadline will also be moving 15 minutes back.
The transfer deadline for GW9 is Saturday October 22nd at 11:30am.
How does our Forecasting work?
We have taken to our Hype Team, and the FPL Community, to compete in a weekly head to head dual of wits. We are asking the questions that dominate each week in the Fantasy Premier League: who to pick, who to avoid, who to captain, and who may surprise. The 3 members of the Hype Team, and a Guest, will provide weekly insight for the Gameweek ahead. For the sake of the first edition of the Forecast, we have provided an example of what we're sending out to interest parties.
Premier League Fixture Prediction: As pundits, we are testing our football acumen with PL predictions (Mark Lawrenson style, only less biased, hopefully) and will be providing regular updated tables and stats in each edition of the FPL Forecast.A perfect score is worth 3 points whilst a correct result is worth 1 point.
FPL Gameweek Forecasting: Answering the regular questions that come up every single week in the Fantasy Premier League community that helps with identifying captaincy picks, transfers, attacking options, clean sheet potential, teams to look our for and avoid, the wildcard differential players, and general analysis and comments.
Scout Picks: Picking a squad of 15 for a single Gameweek, using the rules of the FPL - formations, captains and vice captains, and the player limits of 3 per club (chips will not be feature of these weekly picks)
Each team must pick a Captain, labelled as (c) and a Vice Captain listed as (vc).
Fixture Prediction: 2016/17 Points Table
In our predictions a perfect score is 3 points, and predicting the right outcome is worth 1 point (aka if a team wins but, you predict it, but don't get the perfect score). Below is the Gameweek and overall rundown of our Premier League predictions series for the season.

Who is the team to look out for?:
Only four teams are sticking out for me this week that you need to consider.
Arsenal: Demolished Ludogretz in the Champions League on Tuesday and will be very welcome to invite Boro to the Emirates after their huge dip in form. Midfield points for the Gunners look to be on point again.
Spurs: Tottenham are the real deal and despite their lacklustre draw in the Champions League midweek I expect the Lilywhites to once again prove that they are too much for Eddie Howes Bournemouth team. Jack Wilshere may have an awful weekend ahead of him. Liverpool: The draw against Man United doesn’t take away from their attacking potential and high pressing manner; there will be goals at Anfield this weekend and Ben Foster should be praying to the higher beings for a Baggies miracle when Coutinho, Firmino, Mane, Lallana, Milner, and Henderson set their sights of atoning dropping points to bus parking Mourinho. Chelsea: Currently in stage-one of a Europa League hangover it should be karma to have Chelsea dominate Jose Mourinho’s United squad. The Red Devil’s may not be able to overcome a Blues team who has started to quickly adapt to Conte’s expectations for his team.
Who is the team to avoid?:
Sunderland: Relegated Sunderland will struggle at the London Stadium where West Ham are picking up some form.
West Brom: The Baggies begin a torrid set of upcoming fixtures by visiting Anfield to take on the high pressing Liverpool. Clean sheet potential for Foster and company look to be dwindling in the next five games.
Man United: Europa League victory of Fenerbahçe may come at the cost of slipping up to in-form Chelsea at the weekend. Southampton: Europa League defeat to Inter Milan on Thursday should affect their performance against Man City who will pick themselves up after an embarrassing defeat to Barcelona.
GW Differential Picks:
Gylfi Sigurdsson: The Icelander is an incredible source of points and is on every dead ball situation at Swansea, as well as being a natural goal scorer. Gylfi has made the top ten of our wildcard performances of the season TWICE so far this season and it is only gameweek nine. Watford may struggle against Bradley’s hard working Swans.
Bamideli Alli: On a lucrative purple patch the England international is taking up the goal scoring reigns for Spurs in the absence of Harry Kane. Last season Spurs thrashed Bournemouth and I expect very much the same outcome this time round.
I do the weekly wildcard picks for The Hype Train, so it is worth taking a peak at who I may think will do well this week (hint, hint).
FPL Captaincy Pick:
(C) Alexis Sanchez: The forward line for Arsenal is purring at the moment and anchoring them at the top is the in-form Chilean who is making everything looks easy for the Gunners. Sanchez has also upped the form of Mesut Ozil, so you have everything from Sanchez for a captain this week when Boro walk out onto the Emirates pitch (although I am praying they don’t give him another penalty!).
(VC) Christian Fuchs: Once upon a time Christian Fuchs was loved differential option, but performances in the FPL have been rewarded with a high ownership for this season. Crystal Palace should prove to be low-scoring opposition which should suit the King Power faithful.
Other Gameweek Comments:
Home teams look to be the trend this Gameweek, the FPL will somehow prove everyone wrong again as it usually does. The top six teams are just proving to be irresistible options for managers looking to diversify their teams after a hectic opening to the season. There haven’t been many clean sheets in one game week but I expect there to be quite a few.

Who is the team to look out for?:
Arsenal: Clearly the most favourable fixture of the gameweek. With so many options in every position to choose from its time to have triple Arsenal in your squads.
West Ham: Facing the whipping boys of the league at Home should be a turning point for the Hammers. Payet and co have a chance at redemption.
Who is the team to avoid?:
Sunderland: Might score one or two but only Defoe if a viable option for now.
West Brom: After so nearly hanging on to clean sheets in their last three league games, they now enter a tough period of elite teams. Liverpool up first and a CS is out of the question.
GW Differential Picks:
Gylfi Sigurdsson: Ownership remains strangely low for the Swans main man. Flying under the radar with steady points being racked up.
Erik Pieters: Heading into a favourable run of fixtures. First up is Hull (a).
FPL Captaincy Pick:
(C) Alexis Sanchez: The front man for the best attack in the league right now. Middlesbrough will struggle against his pace and excellent positioning.
(VC) Theo Wallcott: The inform man for the best attack in the league. Pace is his main weapon against an average Boro back line.

Everton: Sheamus Coleman will likely pick up 2/3 bonus points regardless of what goes down, so what's the worst that can happen?

Chelsea: Diego Costa is getting a yellow card against United so he can miss the League Cup game. Written in the stars.
West Brom: Tempted to drop Foster out my main 11 in favour of another players, but Goalkeepers just don't win you back the points.

Gylfi Sigurdsson: All three of us have picked Gylfi, and I've actually gone and put him into my actual line up for GW9.
Stanislas / Wilson: Spurs don't have a couple first choice defenders. Wilson could be the man to profit up top, and Stanislas is the man at the moment
FPL Captaincy Pick:
(C) Theo Walcott: Could have had 2 hat-trick's against Swansea, but Theo's finishing wasn't all there. A great differential at this stage. Who needs Sanchez?
(VC) Gylfi Sigurdsson: On every set piece, penalties, and is leading the line against a team who have only kept the 1 clean sheet - and against Boro of all teams.
