FPL FORECAST 2016/17: Gameweek 24

Each and every week the three members of The Hype Team post their Premier League and FPL predictions in an attempt to enlighten players that might be stuck with their FPL choices and transfers. In addition, we’ll be taking on a guest for every Gameweek in the PL. On the weekly agenda are a general predictions category, a Gameweek Fantasy Premier League forecast, scout picks, and captaincy choices. For Gameweek 24 we welcome @Kegga1988 as our guest. All aboard.

Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 24 Deadline

For the 2016/17 Premier League season, the FPL deadline will be one hour before the commencement of the week's first game. The Premier League website lists each FPL deadline, you can always ask on social media, and you can also view a real time countdown on our Weekly Hype page.

The transfer deadline for GW24 is Saturday 4th February 2017 at 11:30am.

How does our Forecasting work?

We have taken to our Hype Team, and the FPL Community, to compete in a weekly head to head dual of wits. We are asking the questions that dominate each week in the Fantasy Premier League: who to pick, who to avoid, who to captain, and who may surprise. The 3 members of the Hype Team, and a Guest, will provide weekly insight for the Gameweek ahead. For the sake of the first edition of the Forecast, we have provided an example of what we're sending out to interest parties.

  • Premier League Fixture Prediction: As pundits, we are testing our football acumen with PL predictions (Mark Lawrenson style, only less biased, hopefully) and will be providing regular updated tables and stats in each edition of the FPL Forecast.A perfect score is worth 3 points whilst a correct result is worth 1 point.

  • FPL Gameweek Forecasting: Answering the regular questions that come up every single week in the Fantasy Premier League community that helps with identifying captaincy picks, transfers, attacking options, clean sheet potential, teams to look our for and avoid, the wildcard differential players, and general analysis and comments.

  • Scout Picks: Picking a squad of 15 for a single Gameweek, using the rules of the FPL - formations, captains and vice captains, and the player limits of 3 per club (chips will not be feature of these weekly picks)

  • Each team must pick a Captain, labelled as (c) and a Vice Captain listed as (vc).

Fixture Prediction: 2016/17 Points Table

In our predictions a perfect score is 3 points, and predicting the right outcome is worth 1 point (aka if a team wins but, you predict it, but don't get the perfect score). Below is the Gameweek and overall rundown of our Premier League predictions series for the season.

Who would you Transfer In and Out for the Gameweek and beyond?:

IN: Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Sadio Mane, Kevin De Bruyne.

OUT: Charlie Daniels, Sergio Aguero.

Who is the team to look out for?:

Crystal Palace: A win isn’t a guarantee but there could be a number of goals and FPL points in this fixture. Benteke back on the scoresheet and the defenders have finally chipped in. If they can keep it up they are worth looking at.

Spurs: The obvious picks for the week. No sign of goals during the midweek game, I can’t see them making that mistake twice in a row.

Who is the team to avoid?:

Middlesbrough: Struggling to score enough goals and dismal to watch.

Watford: A surprise win at Arsenal doesn’t change the fact they are a poor side to back. Deeney is the only player that stands out for FPL picks.

GW Differential Picks:

Gabriel Jesus (MCI): If this man gets a regular first team place he could become an FPL favourite. Demonstrated what he’s capable of in midweek and was a provider as well as goal scorer.

FPL Captaincy Pick:

(C) Harry Kane:

(VC) Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Other Gameweek Comments:

If you still own Sergio Aguero…Why?

Gabriel Jesus could turn into an FPL bandwagon. If you’re brave enough, go for it.

FPL Forecasting: Gameweek 24

Best GW Attacking Options:

Everton (H) vs Bournemouth

Man City (H) vs Swansea

Liverpool (a) vs. Hull

Best GW Defensive / Clean Sheet Potential:

Spurs (H) vs Middlesbrough

West Brom (H) vs Stoke

Chelsea (h) vs Arsenal

Who would you Transfer In and Out for the Gameweek and beyond?:

IN: Sigurdsson, Snodgrass, Stanislas, Coleman, Baines, Carroll, Brunt, Lukaku, Davies, and all players that will play in both GW26 and GW28.

OUT: Charlie Daniels, Phil Jones (and United defenders in general), and Sergio Aguero. Essentially my actual team.

Who is the team to look out for?:

Crystal Palace: A relegation six pointer pips PVA and Big Sam against Jermain Defoe and David Moyes. Sunderland should lose this one comfortably, but it's never easy with Palace, is it?

Hull: The Tigers have performed well against Chelsea and United in recent weeks, and now play Liverpool with many new players and a new attitude. Hull beat Liverpool 3-1 at home in their last Premier League encounter also, so this is one to watch.

Who is the team to avoid?:

Bournemouth: Like a light switch. The power can be turned on and off. It's currently lights out for The Cherries.

Arsenal: The Gunners play the best side in the league and have been frustrating in recent weeks. They're not at top gear and have had to rotate their team too much in games, breaking up their fluidity and attacking threat in front of goal.

GW Differential Picks:

Chris Brunt (WBA): A danger maYn at both ends of the pitch, and looks worthy of inclusion.

PVA (CRY): Patrick van Aanholt could put Sunderland to the sword.

Leroy Sane (MCI): Baby faced Sane has his motor running at City, and could link up well again, making it three games and three returns.

FPL Captaincy Pick:

(C) Dele Alli: Sunderland frustrated, and so can Boro, but Spurs don't often struggle in succession. Alli's as much as a threat as Kane and can steal the show with a big Gameweek.

(VC) Patrick van Aanholt: PVA's playing old club Sunderland at home, and I'm the only to back him this week, and could be a massive differential.

Other Gameweek Comments:

Honestly, don't make transfers for a bit. We need to all wait and see what's cooking for Gameweek 26 and Gameweek 28. The only transfers we've been suggesting on THT's social accounts are WBA, Everton, and West Ham options, as they're playing in both Gameweek's.

Who does Kegga think will win the Premier League?: Chelsea (but arsenal will do the double like they did to leister last year)

Gameweek 24 Fixture Prediction

Chelsea 0-1 Arsenal

Crystal Palace 2-2 Sunderland

Everton 2-0 Bournemouth

Hull 0-2 Liverpool

Southampton 1-1 West Ham

Watford 1-0 Burnley

West Brom 2-0 Stoke

Spurs 3-0 Middlesbrough

Man City 3-0 Swansea

Leicester 1-2 Man United

FPL Forecasting: Gameweek 24

Best GW Attacking Options:

Manchester City KDB Sterling Sane Jesus – Not Aguero too expensive for the risk.

Best GW Defensive / Clean Sheet Potential:

Spurs, With Rose out Walker is the pick.

Who would you Transfer In and Out for the Gameweek and beyond?:

IN: Players playing in GW's 26 and 28, WHU, EVE, WBA, If you can fill out your defence with season keepers like Brunt and Coleman/Baines than they trades are well worth in and hopefully avoid taking to many hits later on to field 11 in GW28.

OUT: Aguero. Southampton players they are struggling

Who is the team to look out for?:

The bottom 4 teams. SUN, HUL, CRY, SWA. In particular CRY and SWA I expect them to both be safe. And of course Manchester City they have been ok all year and are still 5th. Time for the quality to shine through

Who is the team to avoid?:

LEI, BOU. Complete shambles they felt safe and took the peddle off the gas and now their season has stalled.

GW Differential Picks:

KDB at 7.5% owned could turn a your season around but Sane 7.5m 0.4% owned does not break the bank and appears favoured by Pep.

FPL Captaincy Pick:

Your Spurs attacker (As I don’t have Manchester City Cover), I’ll be going with Kane

Other Gameweek Comments:

Watch out for Koscielny and Mustafi to do a number on Costa like they did in GW6. Koscielny still holding a grudge against Costa from last year. But if Bellerin does not start Arsenal seem to struggle.
