WWE WrestleMania 34 Predictions: 08/04/2018

April 8, 2018

WWE's hallmark pay-per-view event of the year, Wrestlemania, returns this weekend with its 34th edition. The event is headlined by a WWE Championship match between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura, a WWE Universal Championship bout between Brock Lesner and Roman Reigns, and is an event that features the return of Daniel Bryan. The Hype Train gives its predictions for each match ahead of the show this Sunday. All aboard.

WWE WrestleMania 2018: The Card

Wrestlemania is going to be 7 hours long, which is almost the equivalent of back-to-back marathons. There are currently 13 matches confirmed (10 on the main card, 3 on the Kick Off), with John Cena and The Undertaker's expected bout not yet on the card, but everyone is expecting that it will be.

All predictions are without knowledge of what happens at NXT Takeover: New Orleans, as these shows tend to give hints away about potential debuts and surprises the following night at Mania.

We'd love for you to get involved with our predictions, so head over to @THTwrestling and post your predictions of the matches posted below.

WWE WrestleMania 2018: Predictions

We've got @HypeTrainSam, @HypeTrainPhil, and @HypeTrainRob, all aboard the WrestleMania hype train, and here's what we think will happen...

Kickoff: Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Sam: Dolph Ziggler

Phil: Samoa Joe (surprise entrant to win)

Rob: Big Cass / Colin Cassady (a return has been on the cards)

Kickoff: WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal

Sam: Bayley (Sam's actual response was... who cares?)

Phil: Sasha Banks (See above)

Rob: Becky Lynch (She'll take advantage of the Bayley/Sasha feud)

Kickoff: Cruiserweight Championship - Cedric Alexander vs. Mustafa Ali

Sam: Cedric Alexander

Phil: Mustafa Ali (why not?)

Rob: Cedric Alexander (they've been building him up, and he's a HHH guy)

Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

Sam: Owens and Zayn

Phil: Owens and Zayn (Shane'O uses himself to push other wrestlers year after year. His in ring action is crowd pleasing enough to lose over and over)

Rob: Bryan and McMahon (then Sami/Kevin join RAW the next night)

Kurt Angle & Ronda Rousey vs. Triple H & Stephanie McMahon

Sam: Rousey and Angle (thinks this will be the longest match of the night)

Phil: Rousey and Angle (If Rousey loses she has literally nothing to offer. The only thing going for her is reputation)

Rob: Rousey and Angle (Kurt's not lost since returning, and H loves jobbing at Mania)

The Undertaker vs. John Cena

Sam: Undertaker (Sam thinks that someone else may challenge Cena. Goldberg?)

Phil: Undertaker (Phil can see this being a Cena retirement match. He has a lot going on outside of WWE and going out to Taker is the ultimate tribute)

Rob: Undertaker (I'm not sure the Badass will reappear, but he'll return nonetheless)

SmackDown Tag Titles: The Usos (C) vs. The New Day vs. The Bludgeon Brothers

Sam: The Usos

Phil: The Usos (all the other tag teams are dead)

Rob: The Usos (this is their moment at Mania and are the best team in WWE and should be rewarded for their great work this past year)

RAW Tag Titles: Sheamus & Cesaro (C) vs. Braun Strowman & TBD

Sam: Strowman and... (Sam thinks it will be a HOF'er, maybe Goldberg)

Phil: Strowman and... (Phil thinks Braun's partner will be his own alter ego)

Rob: Strowman and... (probably Rey Mysterio or a smaller guy for the promo photo)

SmackDown Women's Championship: Charlotte Flair (C) vs. Asuka

Sam: Asuka

Phil: Asuka (just because...)

Rob: Asuka

RAW Women's Championship: Alexa Bliss (C) vs. Nia Jax

Sam: Alexa Bliss

Phil: Alexa Bliss (Jax is the female Strowman.. destined to never win anything)

Rob: Nia Jax (they've booked this feud into a corner. Jax has to go over)

US Championship: Randy Orton (C) vs. Bobby Roode vs. Jinder Mahal vs. Rusev

Sam: Rusev

Phil: Bobby Roode (lucky dip pick)

Rob: Randy Orton (there's something in his contract that puts him in this position year after year without really deserving it)

Intercontinental Championship: The Miz (C) vs. Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins

Sam: Finn Balor (or as Sam calls him, Smile Balor)

Phil: Seth Rollins (lucky dip 2.0)

Rob: Seth Rollins (The Shield are building quite the win record at Mania. Seth's got this in the bag)

WWE Universal Championship: Brock Lesner (C) vs. Roman Reigns

Sam: Roman Reigns

Phil: Brock Lesner (only because I can't bear to think of Roman as Champ)

Rob: Roman Reigns (I hate this company)

WWE Championship: AJ Styles (C) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Sam: Shinsuke Nakamura

Phil: Shinsuke Nakamura (only match up where he can realistically become champ)

Rob: Shinsuke Nakamura (I'm just not hot on Nakamura, the audience hasn't been, the feud has been non-existent, and there may be fears backstage about it too, and they may choose at the last to keep the belt on AJ, even though Nakamura is likely going to win, but it is the SmackDown thing to do, switching the title up on a regular basis)
