WWE SummerSlam 2018 Predictions: 19/08/2018

WWE have returned to dual-branded pay-per-views this this on a regular basis, with the next such event in form of the SummerSlam 2018 event, which features the Superstar's of both RAW and SmackDown Live. The Hype Team go through the card and predict what we think will be happening at the event in all of the advertised matches. All aboard.

WWE SummerSlam 2018: 19/08/2018

Extreme Rules is roughly a month after the Money in the Bank pay-per-view event, and in truth it is an event that has come around relatively quickly, feeling like just another PPV event to keep WWE ticking over until SummerSlam. With 10 matches on the main card, and a dual-branded PPV event, we anticipate that the event will be 4+ hours long.

WWE Summerslam 2018: Lineup

WWE Extreme Rules 2018: Predictions

We've got @HypeTrainSam, @HypeTrainRob, @HypeTrainPhil, and our Presenter, @AdamZoltie, all aboard the SummerSlam hype train, and here's what we think will happen...

Singles Match: Finn Balor vs. Baron Corbin

Sam: Finn Balor (Sam initially said 'pass' as he has no interest in this match)

Rob: Finn Balor

Adam: Finn Balor

Singles Match: The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan

Sam: The Miz (screwy finish)

Rob: The Miz (it's going all the way to Mania)

Adam: No Contest

Mixed Tag Team Match: Rusev & Lana vs. Andrade "Cien" Almas & Zelina Vega

Sam: Almas & Vega (Sam also said 'pass' to this one as well)

Rob: Almas & Vega

Adam: Almas & Vega

MITB Contact Match: Braun Strowman (MITB holder) vs. Kevin Owens

Sam: Kevin Owens (#ScrewyFinish)

Rob: Braun Strowman

Adam: Kevin Owens

WWE Cruiserweight Championship: Cedric Alexander (c) vs. Drew Gulak

Sam: Cedric Alexander

Rob: Cedric Alexander

Adam: Drew Gulak (I’ve not been watching 205 Live so am just going off the fact that Alexander’s been champ since Wrestlemania and it’s time to switch things around a bit!)

SmackDown Women's Championship: Carmella (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch

Sam: Carmella

Rob: Carmella

Adam: Becky Lynch

RAW Women's Championship: Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Ronda Rousey

Sam: Ronda Rousey

Rob: Alexa Bliss (see below)

Adam: Alexa Bliss (DQ or some kind of ‘shmozzy’ finish)

SmackDown Tag Team Championships: The Bludgeon Brothers (c) vs. The New Day

Sam: New Day (this will lead to Xavier turning on them at some point)

Rob: New Day (such a typical SummerSlam win)

Adam: Bludgeon Brothers

WWE United States Championship: Jeff Hardy (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Sam: Shinsuke Nakamura

Rob: Shinsuke Nakamura

Adam: Shinsuke Nakamura

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Seth Rollins

Sam: Dolph Ziggler

Rob: Dolph Ziggler

Adam: Dolph Ziggler

WWE Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. Samoa Joe

Sam: AJ Styles (AJ's going to defend it until The Miz can take the belt off him before Mania)

Rob: AJ Styles (I'd really love to see Joe win this though)

Adam: AJ Styles

WWE Universal Championship: Brock Lesner (c) vs. Roman Reigns

Sam: Sam's predictions ended at AJ Styles. Sam doesn't want to predict this, he has no desire to do so. He's done at this point. Something smells off in this match. The belt has been tainted with Roman's chase of it, with Sam's views of WWE souring because of this feud. His final answer is 'pass', followed up by a 'who cares?'.

Rob: Brock Lesner (with a Strowman cash in afterwards)

Adam: Roman Reigns
