Prematurely so, the 2019/20 Fantasy Premier League season launched on Thursday 26th June 2019, just over 43 days until the start of the new Premier League season. With the game's launch, we look at some of the initial statistics via our @HypeTrainStats Twitter account, to set the scene for Fantasy players as they embark on a year-long journey of pain, suffering and bonus points confusion. All aboard.
Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 1 Deadline
For the 2019/20 Premier League season, the FPL deadline will be one hour before the commencement of the week's first game. Our website provides a real-world countdown timer for the the upcoming Gameweek, whilst you can read our latest Fantasy articles from the season on our 2019/20 FPL weekly hype sub-section.
FPL Statistics to start the 2019/20 Season
Just as Fantasy football players have their feet up on the beach, and they're a couple of sips into their cocktails, an alert appears on the phone. They turn to their families, happy and content as they enjoy the heat of summer, knowing that this will be the last they consider their thoughts.
The alert reads 'Fantasy Premier League is live for the 2019/20' season. A moment passes as you consider clicking the link. You blink your eyes and your holiday has passed and it is August. You're on your 500th template team and your family, they're nowhere to be found as you sit wide awake at 4pm digesting the thought of splashing £14.0 million on both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson.
We kid, but the new FPL season has come out of nowhere. There's nothing new to note of to the rules, just player price changes and a few notable omissions as Chelsea's team looks glaringly cheap due to Eden Hazard's departure to Real Madrid.
We have taken some time on our @HypeTrainStats social page to look at some of the initial statistics we have picked up on in the initial 24 hours after FPL went live.
