FANTASY FORECAST 2019/20: FPL Gameweek 4

Ahead of each Gameweek in the Fantasy Premier League, The Hype Train's three front-men, Robert Austin, Sam Austin and Phil Jones, duel for FPL supremacy in predicting Premier League scores, as well as going head to head in picking a Scout Picks squad for each round of games. In addition, we provide general insight that we believe might be relevant for FPL players, such as our personal captaincy picks, differentials for the week, and more. Welcome to the Forecast. Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 4 Deadline

For the 2019/20 Premier League season, the FPL deadline will be one hour before the commencement of the week's first game. Our website provides a real-world countdown timer for the the upcoming Gameweek, whilst you can read our latest Fantasy articles from the season on our 2019/20 FPL weekly hype sub-section.

How does our Forecasting work?

For three years we invited guests from the FPL Community to tackle us with picks for the upcoming Gameweek in Fantasy Premier League. We'll be taking a break from inviting guests onto this article for a year, and have introduced a new feature, Fantasy 5's, which we'll be asking weekly guests their top pick in each position ahead of each Gameweek.

For the sake of respecting the rules of the Forecast, we have provided an example of what we're sending out to interested parties that will feature throughout the season.

Premier League Fixture Prediction: As pundits, we are testing our football acumen with PL predictions and will be providing regular updated tables and stats in each edition of the FPL Forecast. A perfect score is worth 3 points whilst a correct result is worth 1 point.
FPL Gameweek Forecasting: Answering the regular questions that come up every single week in the Fantasy Premier League community that helps with identifying captaincy picks, transfers, attacking options, clean sheet potential, teams to look our for and avoid, players to consider for the Draft game, the wildcard differential players, as well as general analysis and comments.
Scout Picks: Picking a squad of 15 for a single Gameweek, without any budget, using the rules of the FPL - formations, captains and vice captains, and the player limits of 3 per club (chips will not be feature of these weekly picks)
Each team must pick a Captain, labelled as (c) and a Vice Captain listed as (vc).

Who are the teams to look out for and avoid?:

Norwich – Avoid: The Canaries travel to the London Stadium to face West Ham, and if you read my differential article you will understand why it isn’t a cut and dry fixture for Norwich. West Ham have introduced the league to Sebastien Haller which could rattle the Canaries cage this weekend.

Newcastle – Watch: Watford are on a terrible run of form, and I expect Newcastle to capitalise on this to carry on their good feelings of beating Spurs on the road. Joelinton looks a real handful and I expect him to cause the Hornets defence real trouble.

Chelsea – Watch: The Blues have a good home fixture to work on the fact their defence is all over the place. The good news is that Lampard has got his team scoring plenty of goals, so the likes of Pulisic, Mount, and Abraham will be keenly watched this weekend.

FPL Captaincy Picks:

(C) – Raheem Sterling (MCI): There isn’t even a debate about this one. Sterling has scored in all three games so far, and they host Brighton at home. Liverpool have a tricky fixture away to Burnley, and all fingers are pointing at Sterling and Aguero to score big this Gameweek.

(VC) – Sebastien Haller (WHU): From time-to-time I have faith in a differential captain, and this week Haller is promoted to vice-captain. After he took the sting out of the Hornets the Frenchman is looking to do the same to Norwich. Haller is a bruise, a natural goal-scorer, and let’s face facts, the Hammers are hosting a promoted team. West Ham have it in them to spoil the Pukki Party, they are like that.

Other Gameweek Comments:

There are lots of mixed fixtures this week, and as a result lots of open fixtures where anything that can happen. Either one of two things will happen…lots of goals…or…VAR with fewer goals. I am keenly watching VAR this season because it has already ruled out eight goals so far this season. I think it will reach double digits this weekend.

Who are the teams to look out for and avoid?:

West Ham: This is exactly the game where Pukki blanks. West Ham are notorious for annoying FPL players, so why stop now?

Newcastle & Watford: 19th vs. 20th in the table. I'd avoid on both accounts. One good win away at Spurs doesn't translate to how The Magpies play against teams like Watford. We lost 3-0 to Watford in the same fixture last season, so we'll likely get rolled over to go bottom of the table.

Aston Villa: Crystal Palace haven't scored at home in a while. Wesley looks more like the player that Christian Benteke was supposed to be, and in general my loathing of Villa looks set to continue.

FPL Captaincy Picks:

(C) – Mohamed Salah (LIV): The powers of FPL have convinced everyone that Sterling is the dreamboat to own this weekend with the captaincy armband, but I've just got a feeling that Mo's form will carry over at Burnley.

(VC) – Raheem Sterling (MCI): Is not Salah, it's Sterling. I think Brighton will be quite compact and might limit the score at The Etihad.

Other Gameweek Comments:

Every fibre in my body is telling me to wildcard this week due to injury and rotation concerns in my team. I'm trying to resist though so I can activate it over the international break.
