Weekly Differentials (GW23)
We are fast approaching the first Double-Gameweek of 2020, and that means some managers *cough” Pep *cough*, will ponder rotating their teams ahead of a busy couple of days prior to a much-earned international break. This week there are lots of tightly contested fixtures, which means you may be thinking twice about some of your fantasy transfers. We are back again to provide some under-the-radar differential picks that could help you out of any dilemma’s you are having with your team.
GW23: Differential Highlights
Abdoulaye Doucouré (WATFORD vs. Spurs):
Last we picked Sarr as our differential who returned 6pts away at Watford, and when we saw the team news and that Doucouré was occupying the CAM role, it made us think about his potential. Watching the game, we understood Nigel Pearson’s game plan…the Frenchman is the man occupying the unused space, and in it, he scored and assisted to sink the South Coast club. This week against Spurs we don’t care about the opposition, we just see a motivated Watford who are making statements about their intentions to stay in the league for another season.
Alexandre Lacazette (ARSENAL vs. Sheffield United):
After the horror tackle on Max Meyer that got Aubameyang sent off with a three-game ban, the goal-scoring will be oversaw by the resident Frenchman, Alexandre Lacazette. Arsenal come up against a tough Sheffield United team that are hard to break down but watching Lacazette you understand that space is literally not an issue for the Frenchman. He thrives in small spaces, and I can see him being a double-digit player by the end of GW23.
Miguel Almirón (NEWCASTLE vs. Chelsea):
The Newcastle vs. Chelsea fixture is always an interesting one, and a good one to watch. If you aren’t aware, there is a bit of a blood feud between the two clubs, more on the Newcastle side. In the days of Didier Drogba ruining Toon dreams, Newcastle love to make their own statements against Chelsea. The man of the hour right now is Paraguayan Miguel Almirón who has finally found his shooting boots in the Premier League and is now a real offensive asset for Steve Bruce’s team. He might be the best bet to get a result against tempered opposition.

Before we properly begin, we are obliged to inform you of our history with this weeks’ captain elect we have selected this striker twice before, and on both occasions, he has amassed a total of 2pts per match. To remind you, here were those games:
GW11 vs. Norwich. Home game. 2pts.
GW18 vs. Sheffield United. Home Game. 2pts.
Because we are now superstitious, in the write-up we aren’t even going to acknowledge his name, anything about him, any form, nationality, the team he plays for, or where his team are playing on the day. Useful, right? Instead, all we are going to do is quickly brief you on their opponents, Aston Villa. Recently, the Villains have lost both Wesley and Tom Heaton to season ending injuries, and as part of that shockwave, they got absolutely crushed by second-placed Man City. The absence has seemingly struck a nerve with the players whose heads have dropped, and this game for Aston Villa could see the shockwave of this loss carried through to this fixture.
Aston Villa haven’t kept a clean sheet since GW19 when they squeaked a 1-0 home win against Norwich City, prior to that the last clean sheet was in GW13 against Newcastle at Villa Park against Newcastle, and before that it was during GW5 when they hosted West Ham in a dull 0-0 draw. The Villains haven’t kept an away clean sheet all season, and that should be enough to give you hope that the striker in this game has a chance to break the captaincy curse we have placed upon him. Even with Pepe Reina joining Aston Villa that shouldn’t change the habits embedded into Villa’s struggling season.
Let’s hope that lightening can strike on the third time of asking for the chosen striker.
