FPL FORECAST 2016/17: Gameweek 3
Each and every week the three members of The Hype Team post their Premier League and FPL predictions in an attempt to enlighten players that might be stuck with their FPL choices and transfers. In addition, we’ll be taking on a guest for every Gameweek in the PL. On the weekly agenda are a general predictions category, a Gameweek Fantasy Premier League forecast, scout picks, and captaincy choices. For the opening weekend of the season, we welcome @jamieFPL from @fplbet as our third guest. All aboard.
Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 3 Deadline
For the 2016/17 Premier League season, the FPL deadline will be one hour before the commencement of the week's first game. The Premier League website lists each FPL deadline, you can always ask on social media, and you can also view a real time countdown on our Weekly Hype page.
The transfer deadline for GW2 is Saturday August 27th at 11:30am.
How does our Forecasting work?
We have taken to our Hype Team, and the FPL Community, to compete in a weekly head to head dual of wits. We are asking the questions that dominate each week in the Fantasy Premier League: who to pick, who to avoid, who to captain, and who may surprise. The 3 members of the Hype Team, and a Guest, will provide weekly insight for the Gameweek ahead. For the sake of the first edition of the Forecast, we have provided an example of what we're sending out to interest parties.
Premier League Fixture Prediction: As pundits, we are testing our football acumen with PL predictions (Mark Lawrenson style, only less biased, hopefully) and will be providing regular updated tables and stats in each edition of the FPL Forecast.A perfect score is worth 3 points whilst a correct result is worth 1 point.
FPL Gameweek Forecasting: Answering the regular questions that come up every single week in the Fantasy Premier League community that helps with identifying captaincy picks, transfers, attacking options, clean sheet potential, teams to look our for and avoid, the wildcard differential players, and general analysis and comments.
Scout Picks: Picking a squad of 15 for a single Gameweek, using the rules of the FPL - formations, captains and vice captains, and the player limits of 3 per club (chips will not be feature of these weekly picks)
Each team must pick a Captain, labelled as (c) and a Vice Captain listed as (vc).
Fixture Prediction: 2016/17 Points Table

Who is the team to look out for?:
Man City – In form, scoring goals, all the obvious really.
West Brom – Defensively solid, looking stern as Pulis wants them.
Leicester – The Swans are struggling, and the Foxes have a good record against their opponents this Gameweek.
Everton – Lukaku is back in business for Everton and there were goals in this exact fixture last season. Expect another corker.
Who is the team to avoid?:
Sunderland – Moyes has already made it abundantly clear that Sunderland look set to be scrapping it out at the bottom of the table this season, nobody can blame him with two straight losses on the bounce. Sunderland visit St Marys against a usually stern defence and nobody is expecting any surprises in this encounter.
Arsenal – Still uncertain on what the hell is going on at Arsenal, their two performances so far this season have been so inconsistent that you’re better off flipping a coin as to whether or not they will be defensively solid or potent in attack. Until their heavy hitters return from injury they are still to be avoided.
Spurs – The Lilywhites have a torrid record against Liverpool, they haven’t beaten the Reds in what feels like forever. With Pochettino still figuring out his ideal attack there is worse news, Sadio Mane is back fit and firing for Klopp, it could be another of them days and a match of the season contenders. Liverpool enjoys playing against better teams, so Spurs should be wary of the intensity brought with this encounter.
West Ham – After crashing out of the Europa League and with the injury to target-man Andy Carroll this is an uncertain time for the Hammers. Worst yet is that they travel to a rampant Manchester City, not many believe they can repeat what they did at the Etihad last season.
GW Differential Picks:
1. Romelu Lukaku – The Belgian looks to return to action against Stoke in the main team and this beast could get his season under way. Lukaku has been largely overlooked due to the impact of Ibra and Aguero, which is expected.
2. Christian Benteke – The record signing looks to start immediately and could be the missing piece of the Crystal Palace puzzle against struggling Bournemouth.
3. Robert Huth – The meant in the Foxes defence has returned to the main team and after three consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League against Swansea there is every reason to be optimistic about adding a fourth.
4. Jose Fonte – With Manchester United scouting the Euro 2016 centre back the arrival of Sunderland has FPL managers hoping that Southampton can finally claim their first clean sheet of the season. The last two encounters between the two clubs in the Premier League have been low scoring so it could be a good day for owners of Southampton defenders.

(C) – Sergio Aguero – Having learnt the hard way about not having the Kun in your team anyone would be an idiot not to captain the Argentine in your scout picks.
(VC) – Riyad Mahrez – The winger has an exceptional record against Swansea and with their defensive might back in check expect the Foxes attacking force to get better too.

Man City – Firing on all cylinders going into a tie against injury ravaged West Ham. Expect last week’s goal rush to continue.
West Brom – Should have enough structure to hold out a clean sheet.
Who is the team to avoid?:
Sunderland – Buying an abundance of United rejects isn’t enough. Southampton have a chance to kick start their season here.
Arsenal – Matchday one for a number of regular starters. Poor match fitness and a weak defence.
GW Differential Picks:
1. Raheem Sterling – Bagging a couple decent returns so far and looks to be a Pep favourite.
2. Michy Batshuayi – A goal and an assist from two sub appearances might be enough for a start and a chance to prove his FPL worth. Bagged a brace in the Cup in midweek.
3. Curtis Davies – Providing the best defensive stats in all the Premier League. A combination of Interceptions, Clearances and Blocks that are unrivalled so far.
FPL Captaincy Pick:
(C) – Sergio Aguero – Aguero looks like he’s challenging himself to beat Zlatan to the Golden Boot this year.
(VC) – Riyad Mahrez – Time to shine against a makeshift defence. Might drag Vardy into the points with him.

Sunderland have already conceded that they'll be part of a relegation battle. That's not promising just 3 Gameweek's in and might have an affect on team morale.

FPL Captaincy Pick:
I really want Jamie Vardy to do well this weekend. He's been his same old self this season, just can't find the net yet. Swansea is a perfect opportunity for Vardy to open his account, and it's a fixture that he didn't play in last season due to suspension.... But because of the monopoly of Zlatan, I'd be an idiot to pick a wildcard captaincy choice for a third straight week with no returns.

Just don't buy Capoue. Pereyra's coming in and will play in that forward midfield role after the international break.
