FPL FORECAST 2016/17: Gameweek 10
Each and every week the three members of The Hype Team post their Premier League and FPL predictions in an attempt to enlighten players that might be stuck with their FPL choices and transfers. In addition, we’ll be taking on a guest for every Gameweek in the PL. On the weekly agenda are a general predictions category, a Gameweek Fantasy Premier League forecast, scout picks, and captaincy choices. For the opening weekend of the season, we welcome @FPLassist as our 10th guest. All aboard.
Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 10 Deadline
For the 2016/17 Premier League season, the FPL deadline will be one hour before the commencement of the week's first game. The Premier League website lists each FPL deadline, you can always ask on social media, and you can also view a real time countdown on our Weekly Hype page.
In a change from last season, the early Saturday kick off time has now been moved back to 12:30am, meaning the weekly FPL deadline will also be moving 15 minutes back.
The transfer deadline for GW10 is Saturday October 29th at 11:30am.
How does our Forecasting work?
We have taken to our Hype Team, and the FPL Community, to compete in a weekly head to head dual of wits. We are asking the questions that dominate each week in the Fantasy Premier League: who to pick, who to avoid, who to captain, and who may surprise. The 3 members of the Hype Team, and a Guest, will provide weekly insight for the Gameweek ahead. For the sake of the first edition of the Forecast, we have provided an example of what we're sending out to interest parties.
Premier League Fixture Prediction: As pundits, we are testing our football acumen with PL predictions (Mark Lawrenson style, only less biased, hopefully) and will be providing regular updated tables and stats in each edition of the FPL Forecast.A perfect score is worth 3 points whilst a correct result is worth 1 point.
FPL Gameweek Forecasting: Answering the regular questions that come up every single week in the Fantasy Premier League community that helps with identifying captaincy picks, transfers, attacking options, clean sheet potential, teams to look our for and avoid, the wildcard differential players, and general analysis and comments.
Scout Picks: Picking a squad of 15 for a single Gameweek, using the rules of the FPL - formations, captains and vice captains, and the player limits of 3 per club (chips will not be feature of these weekly picks)
Each team must pick a Captain, labelled as (c) and a Vice Captain listed as (vc).
Fixture Prediction: 2016/17 Points Table
In our predictions a perfect score is 3 points, and predicting the right outcome is worth 1 point (aka if a team wins but, you predict it, but don't get the perfect score). Below is the Gameweek and overall rundown of our Premier League predictions series for the season.

Gameweek 10 Fixture Prediction
Sunderland 0-4 Arsenal
Man United 2-0 Burnley
Middlesbrough 1-2 Bournemouth
Spurs 1-1 Leicester
Watford 3-0 Hull
West Brom 0-2 Man City
Crystal Palace 1-3 Liverpool
Everton 3-1 West Ham
Southampton 1-0 Chelsea
Stoke 1-1 Swansea
FPL Forecasting: Gameweek 10
Best GW Attacking Options:
Arsenal (A) vs Sunderland
Liverpool (A) vs Crystal Palace
Watford (H) vs Hull
Man United (H) vs Burnley
Everton (H) vs West Ham
Best GW Defensive / Clean Sheet Potential:
Watford (H) vs Hull
Arsenal (A) vs Sunderland
Man United (H) vs Burnley
Who would you Transfer In and Out for the Gameweek and beyond?:
IN: Any Liverpool midfielder, any Arsenal midfielder, Holebas, Deeney, Ibrahimovic (only for this week), Success, Stanislas, Daniels, Austin, Fonte.
OUT: Aguero, Gareth McAuley, Joel Ward, Williams, Jagielka, Amat.
Who is the team to look out for?:
Liverpool: Goals, goals, goals. Liverpool’s incredible form should see them past the imposing Crystal Palace who has dropped the ball in recent weeks.
Arsenal: More goals, even more midfield points, and an opposition that is already preparing for life in the Championship. The Gunners will be all smiles this weekend. Man City: Just what Pep needs to revitalise him Citizens after crashing out of the cup, a trip to a team where they have an incredible record. Last season they beat the Baggies 3-0 on the opening day, we could be seeing more of that. Watford: Easy home game against a team conceding lots of goals.
Who is the team to avoid?:
Sunderland: Relegated.
Chelsea: Be warned, Blues. Southampton are on a great patch of form, not only have they been scoring goals at St Marys they have also been keeping clean sheets. Chelsea are a trap this week, especially since their confidence shaken in the EFL Cup when they crashed out to West Ham.
Burnley: Hot on the heels of a win in the latest Manche$ter ‘Derby’ the Red Devils will be happy to host Burnley who have struggled for any kind of away form. Expect this to be a conclusive Man United victory.
Stoke City: I want to be wrong and say that Stoke are going to do Swansea, but Bradley has made the Swans compact and that could mean another frustrating day for Wilfried Bony against his former club.
GW Differential Picks:
Christian Benteke: A player who loves scoring against Liverpool, playing for a team that loves to cause Liverpool misery. Benteke’s scored against Palace in this fixture last season, and we can see him making another big impact, we still expect Liverpool to win, but from set pieces Benteke will be there, waiting.
Troy Deeney: There will be goals in this game when Watford hosts Hull, this should be a big week for the Hornets as they continue to climb the table.
FPL Captaincy Pick:
Alexis Sanchez (C): I can’t look past Arsenal in this fixture; they have the potential to absolutely destroy Sunderland in the form they are in. Arsene Wenger will also be keen to see his team improve after the lacklustre draw against Middlesbrough.
Troy Deeney (VC): As already mentioned, Deeney is good for a goal in this game.

Who would you Transfer In and Out for the Gameweek and beyond?:
IN: Bournemouth Defenders, David Luiz, Marcos Alonso, Eden Hazard, Joe Allen, Xherdan Shaqiri, Any Liverpool or Arsenal Midfielder.
OUT: Jordi Amat, James Collins, John Stones, Robert Snodgrass, Christian Benteke.
Who is the team to look out for?:
Man City: Without a win in their last six they will be looking to savage the WBA defence and change the back page headlines. With KDB out of action they may be limited but they have more than enough fire power to get the job done.
Spurs: Likely to tear Leicester apart as is standard with the top clubs this season. Rotation makes it difficult to pick out FPL candidate but Dele Alli is coming back into form, while Christian Eriksen is always a danger. Yet to see if their defence is back in full fitness.
Who is the team to avoid?:
Sunderland: DUhDuhDUUUH. It’s a shock I know.
Leicester: Away from home they just aren’t the same team. The tinkerman likes to rest one of either Mahrez or Vardy in each fixture and it shows on the pitch.
GW Differential Picks:
Odion Ighalo Victor Moses Alex Iwobi
FPL Captaincy Pick:
(C) Alexis Sanchez: A disappointing return for what was a one sided fixture against Boro, but Sunderland is a fixture too good to ignore. Sanchez is set to lead the line once more and surely there will be goals a plenty.
(VC) Sergio Aguero: Despite the renound WBA Home defence being one of the hardest to break down, history tells us they will find a way. In the last twelve meetings between the sides City have won eleven and drawn one. Scoring at least twice in 10/12 of those fixtures.
Other Gameweek Comments:
Lots of people selling Sergio Aguero heading into a tasty run of fixtures. It’s easier to keep him and suffer the bad times than it is to get him in during the good times.
Xherdan Shaqiri looks the part, is on set pieces, just scored a brace, but worth remembering he didn’t show up in the last 8 weeks prior. (Still might transfer him in)... Below you can help influence my team in the coming weeks.

Who would you Transfer In and Out for the Gameweek and beyond?:
IN:
- Charlie Austin (The main man is back!)
- A second Liverpool midfielder (One of Mane/Firmino/Coutinho isn't enough with the run of fixtures the club have)
- A second Spurs defender (Best defensive record in the league - and most defensive points in the FPL is reason alone)
- Jose Holebas (Scoring points at both ends. An FPL essential right now).
- Gylfi Sigurdsson (Signs are there that the form is returning. Gylfi's supporting Baston, and travel to a Stoke side that have struggled defending this season until late)
OUT:
- Zlatan (So many shot, so few goals)
- De Bruyne (inconsistent in being fit and available)
- Diego Costa (that 5th yellow card is coming)
- A second West Brom defender (if you've one, keep. If you've 2, get rid).
Who are the teams to look out for?:
Watford - My personal team has benefited heavily from the inclusions of Troy Deeney and Jose Holebas. The Greek full back is a definite essential being on set pieces, corners from the left, direct free kicks, and has a hell of a long shot on him. Hull *should* be brushed aside in this one... Touch wood.
Everton - The West Ham Murderer is back in town, looking for claret and blue blood. Lukaku's the main man this Gameweek.
Who are the teams to avoid?:
Man United - Points are being spread across their team, so pinning the right option is difficult, even when winning. Don't risk a safe option for this one standalone fixture.
GW Differential Picks:
Dele Alli - Leicester are looking vulnerable on the road, and Alli's providing the attacking support that could dispatch the Foxes away from home.
Callum Wilson - Bournemouth's main man up top is going up against a Boro side who kept a clean sheet against Arsenal. How typical would it be if Bournemouth outed them at home, with Wilson on the score charts?
Adama Traore - My favourite player from Gameweek 9, Adama destroyed Nacho Monreal and the Arsenal defence over the course of 90 minutes, and was just missing the finishing touches. Could be a big weekend for the Barcelona academy product.
FPL Captaincy Pick:
(C) Sergio Aguero - Playing it safe, banking on the Argentine forward to break his goalless streak. Man City traditionally (since the money) have a good record against West Brom.
(VC) Romelu Lukaku - Goal, goal, goal, goal, goal, goal, goal. 7 goals in 6 games league games against West Ham. West Ham have kept 2 straight clean sheets in the league, but travel to an Everton side who'll put the sword to West Ham if they're not 100%. Lukaku has the added benefit of being on set pieces and penalty kicks.
Other Gameweek Comments:
The only game I'm thrown off by in predicting is Chelsea's visit to Southampton. Both teams are in form, can defend, and have good attacking players. Toss of a coin on this one. My flip landed on Chelsea winning.

About:
We have created FPL Assist to make it easier to select the best Fantasy Premier League squad every week throughout the season. We do this by calculating predicted scores for every player in the Premier League. We have collected all the FPL data since the beginning of the 2012/13 season and pass this through our top secret formula to produce our Projections.
Many of our regular articles give you a glimpse of our precious data: Armbandits shows the predicted top 5 highest scorers each gameweek, this group forms the basis of our Team of the Week. Our Team Projections (team-by-team predicted goals scored and conceded) are used to recommend the best attacking (Bangin’ ‘em In) and defending (Keep It Clean) teams over the coming few weeks.
We also use our regularly updated FPL data for more than just predictions, Features such as: we provide daily tweets of player price and availability (injuries & suspensions) changes. We can also tweet you directly with any changes to players in your squad. You can also receive tweets about specific players outside your squad by adding them to your FPL Assist watchlist. Who would you Transfer In and Out for the Gameweek and beyond?:

Our transfers out are Michail Antonio (who hasn't kept up his early season form) and Diego Costa who has some tough fixtures ahead and has been walking a disciplinary tightrope since gameweek 6.

Watford & Swansea are expected to have better-than-average weeks in gameweek 10.
