FPL FORECAST 2016/17: Gameweek 12
Each and every week the three members of The Hype Team post their Premier League and FPL predictions in an attempt to enlighten players that might be stuck with their FPL choices and transfers. In addition, we’ll be taking on a guest for every Gameweek in the PL. On the weekly agenda are a general predictions category, a Gameweek Fantasy Premier League forecast, scout picks, and captaincy choices. For the opening weekend of the season, we welcome @_FPLtips as our 12th guest. All aboard.
Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 12 Deadline
For the 2016/17 Premier League season, the FPL deadline will be one hour before the commencement of the week's first game. The Premier League website lists each FPL deadline, you can always ask on social media, and you can also view a real time countdown on our Weekly Hype page.
In a change from last season, the early Saturday kick off time has now been moved back to 12:30am, meaning the weekly FPL deadline will also be moving 15 minutes back.
The transfer deadline for GW12 is Saturday November 19th at 11:30am
How does our Forecasting work?
We have taken to our Hype Team, and the FPL Community, to compete in a weekly head to head dual of wits. We are asking the questions that dominate each week in the Fantasy Premier League: who to pick, who to avoid, who to captain, and who may surprise. The 3 members of the Hype Team, and a Guest, will provide weekly insight for the Gameweek ahead. For the sake of the first edition of the Forecast, we have provided an example of what we're sending out to interest parties.
Premier League Fixture Prediction: As pundits, we are testing our football acumen with PL predictions (Mark Lawrenson style, only less biased, hopefully) and will be providing regular updated tables and stats in each edition of the FPL Forecast.A perfect score is worth 3 points whilst a correct result is worth 1 point.
FPL Gameweek Forecasting: Answering the regular questions that come up every single week in the Fantasy Premier League community that helps with identifying captaincy picks, transfers, attacking options, clean sheet potential, teams to look our for and avoid, the wildcard differential players, and general analysis and comments.
Scout Picks: Picking a squad of 15 for a single Gameweek, using the rules of the FPL - formations, captains and vice captains, and the player limits of 3 per club (chips will not be feature of these weekly picks)
Each team must pick a Captain, labelled as (c) and a Vice Captain listed as (vc).
Fixture Prediction: 2016/17 Points Table

Who is the team to look out for?:
Sunderland: I can’t believe that I am even saying this, but in this match they are my favourite to win and stir up the relegation race.
Chelsea: Pretty much able to do anything in the FPL whilst on the form they are on. Real powerhouse unit in this new 3-4-3 formation, as a result the Blues are serious title challenger travelling to a promoted club in what should be a no-brainer match.
Liverpool: Unstoppable attacking force.
Who is the team to avoid?:
Hull: Offering Mike Phelan that long term contract seems to have been a bad idea in hindsight. The Tigers are in real threat as their injury ravaged team must face a Sunderland team who have found their feet after a hard fought win against Bournemouth in the last gameweek.
Swansea: Romelu Lukaku and Yannick Bolasie are already excited.
Man United: The only real win obtained by the Red Devils was the visit to out of form Swansea; I honestly can’t see the Mourinho factor beating Arsene Wenger on this occasion. In the past few seasons the ‘first time’ tag is now normality.
West Ham: This will be a derby they are dreading, the Hammers go up against the only undefeated team in English football and it will most likely stay that way.
GW Differential Picks:
Harry Kane: A long spell on the injury table has seen Kane finally return to the Spurs setup, and his first contribution was earning his team a point at the Emirates with a well taken penalty. Expect him to be the difference maker, and he should be fresh after being sent home from the England camp early.
Marcos Alonso: Revitalised the Blues defence since his first start, the Spaniard is undefeated whilst wearing Chelsea colours and with the potential of making a six consecutive clean sheet wouldn’t be surprising against Boro who have had problems in front of goal this season.
FPL Captaincy Pick:
(C) Romelu Lukaku: The Toffees have shown real fight in front of their home fans and Bob Bradley will be having nightmares about Lukaku in the run up to this fixture. Should be a comprehensive win for Everton with their main man carrying on his good international form where he scored a couple of goals having come off the bench against Estonia.
(VC) Diego Costa: Currently the best striker in the Premier League without question, this new Diego Costa has been a real handful and is playing some exquisite football in Conte’s system.
Other Gameweek Comments:
Most of the teams in the top six are away from home this week, so expect some disappointment if you are expecting whitewash performances that we have all been accustomed to in the last few weeks. The international break will also see plenty of rotation, so I expect my social media timelines to be in outrage once the starting elevens are announced.

Sunderland: Looking to start their relegation survival early with a 6 pointer against Hull. Neither team has much hope of survival in truth but Jermain Defoe is still a top class striker and that might be enough, just.
Chelsea: So many goals, So many clean sheets, Hazard, Costa, Kante…need I say more?
Who is the team to avoid?:
Hull: Favourites to go down and facing a club that knows how to survive in the premier league against all odds.
Swansea: Allowing far too many chances against them and not creating enough of their own. Gylfi is being relied on too heavily once again.
Man United: A win against Swansea does nothing to change my mind about them. Facing a real title contender this week we will see the true United once more. Zlatan Blankahimivic.
GW Differential Picks:
Jermain Defoe: This man should still be an England International. Near the summit of FPL forward points despite playing for a relegation candidate. A brace or even a hat trick would not be a surprise.
Olivier Giroud: Might not get the start but as we’ve already seen this year he can bang them in given 20 minutes on the pitch. His aerial ability will shine through against a shaky United.
FPL Captaincy Pick:
(C) Sergio Aguero: His away form has been somewhat of a surprise and cannot be ignored. His points are often dependant on the fitness of the squad around him. KDB, Silva, Sterling and Gundogan are all injury free for the weekend.
(VC) Eden Hazard: Goals and assists are flowing like its 2014. Another player who’s away form has shocked the FPL. The 3-4-3 system has released his creativity and footballing genius. At this stage its between him and Coutinho for POTY.

Who is the team to look out for?:
Arsenal: The Premier League history books tell you that Arsenal will lose at Man United. Realistically, there is a big gulf between the sides. Arsenal should win quite comfortably, even if Bellerin is injured and Sanchez is a doubt.
Liverpool: Southampton have been beat by Liverpool in their last 2 Premier League games. I remember Coutinho scoring 2 screamers in recent years. Even if the Brazilian doesn't play, Liverpool should win. Mane returning could be massive.
Who is the team to avoid?:
West Ham: Spurs don't lose. West Ham aren't very good at winning. Kane's back. Payet's off form. Simples.
GW Differential Picks:
Gylfi Sigurdsson: The Iceland international is being relied upon a lot at Swansea and tends to perform against the 'better' sides in the league. Everton at home just about make that classification.
Wilfried Bony: The Ivorian was great at home against Swansea, and Bournemouth are running off the tracks of The Hype Train. Expecting big things from the powerhouse against a Bournemouth side without Adam Smith.
FPL Captaincy Pick:
(C) Sergio Aguero: Aguero's best quality is to negate other members of your mini-leagues. He's a tool to stay in contention during a Gameweek, and one that won't be overlooked by us away at a Palace side incapable of keeping a clean sheet.
(VC) Jermain Defoe: Defoe is taking the plaudits, but real star man at Sunderland is Anichebe. If he plays against Hull, he'll allow Defoe the chances to score against a predictably terrible Hull side.

Who is going to win the Premier League this season?: It’s so wide open; any of the current top 5 could easily win it. Chelsea and Liverpool are looking unstoppable at the minute though, and the lack of European football for those two teams should help them later on in the season. If I had to pick one at this moment in time, I’d say Chelsea.

Who is the team to look out for?:
West Brom: They’ve looked a lot more convincing going forwards this season, with Chadli and Rondon both looking threatening. Despite only picking up 2 clean sheets so far this season, they’ve been very solid historically under Tony Pulis, so the clean sheets should come during their great run of fixtures (BUR, hul, WAT, che, SWA).
Who is the team to avoid?:
Man Utd: Just 1 win in the last 5 Gameweeks, which came against a poor Swansea side, who are struggling for points themselves. They also have a number of key players missing through injury/suspension, including: Ibrahimovic, Valencia, Baily, Shaw and Smalling.
GW Differential Picks:
Brunt: Playing in midfield but listed as a defender means he has an increased chance of returning attacking points, whilst also being awarded the maximum points when his team keep a clean sheet. Takes a share of set pieces too.
Kane: Only 5.4% own the Spurs striker, following his period on the sidelines through injury. He’s fit and ready to lead the line against West Ham, Swansea, Hull and Burnley (all at home) during the next 6 Gameweeks.
FPL Captaincy Pick:
Aguero: He’s always the go-to captain option and City’s trip to Crystal Palace should see a fair amount of goals. The Argentinian has scored 3 goals in the last 4 Gameweeks; no striker has managed more. He’s hit the target with 8 shots in the same period and no player in the league has managed more.
