TOP DEFENDER BUYS: FPL Gameweek 30

The 2016/17 Premier League is quickly coming to its end, and for the millions of FPL players around the world it is either an end is sight that can't come soon enough after a season to forget, or one that some just don't want to end due to topping mini-leagues. With nine Gameweek's left of the season there are lots still to play for with fantasy players, and one such remaining hurdle is the upcoming double Gameweek's. Ahead of Gameweek 30, which sees a two week international period take place, we're appealing to those who have chosen to play their wildcard. Here's some of our top Defender picks, for both single and double Gameweek players. All aboard.

Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 30 Deadline

For the 2016/17 Premier League season, the FPL deadline will be one hour before the commencement of the week's first game. The Premier League website lists each FPL deadline, you can always ask on social media, and you can also view a real time countdown on our Weekly Hype page.

The transfer deadline for GW30 is Saturday 1st April 2017 at 11:30am.

Gameweek 30 (and beyond): Our Top 5 Defenders

We've been seeing a lot of wildcard activity ahead of Gameweek 30 due to the potential price rises in players, and the threat of a number of squad afflictions that could potentially threaten FPL players. We're going to round up who we believe are the best defenders for now - the FPL has not yet announced when the next Double Gameweek fixtures will be, but we've a good idea that GW33, GW34, and GW37 are likely destinations for additional fixtures. We're living in the now, and assessing for the next few Gameweek's who could be the high and low priced gems that could make a difference.

Making an appearance are both single and double Ghameweek defenders. Liverpool for instance do not have any DGW fixtures, but do pose a potentially mouhwatering run of fixtures, whilst Southampton, Spurs, Chelsea, and Man United, all have DGW fixtures on the horizon.
