FANTASY FORECAST 2017/18: FPL Gameweek 6
Ahead of each Gameweek in the Fantasy Premier League the Hype Train invites a special guest onto its Fantasy Forecast, where the three members of the Hype Team and its Guests will duel for FPL supremacy in predicting Premier League scores, as well as going head to head in picking a Scout Picks squad for the relevant Gameweek. In addition, we give our insight into who are the players to watch and those to drop, both for traditional FPL leagues and the Draft mode, as well as providing insight into captaincy picks, differentials for the week, and more. Welcome to the Forecast. All aboard.

Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek Deadline
For the 2016/17 Premier League season, the FPL deadline will be one hour before the commencement of the week's first game. The Premier League website lists each FPL deadline, you can always ask on social media, and you can also view a real time countdown on our Weekly Hype page.

How does our Forecasting work?
We have taken to our Hype Team, and the FPL Community, to compete in a weekly head to head dual of wits. We are asking the questions that dominate each week in the Fantasy Premier League: who to pick, who to avoid, who to captain, and who may surprise. The 3 members of the Hype Team, and a Guest, will provide weekly insight for the Gameweek ahead. For the sake of respecting the rules of the Forecast, we have provided an example of what we're sending out to interested parties.
Premier League Fixture Prediction: As pundits, we are testing our football acumen with PL predictions and will be providing regular updated tables and stats in each edition of the FPL Forecast. A perfect score is worth 3 points whilst a correct result is worth 1 point.
FPL Gameweek Forecasting: Answering the regular questions that come up every single week in the Fantasy Premier League community that helps with identifying captaincy picks, transfers, attacking options, clean sheet potential, teams to look our for and avoid, players to consider for the Draft game, the wildcard differential players, as well as general analysis and comments.
Scout Picks: Picking a squad of 15 for a single Gameweek, without any budget, using the rules of the FPL - formations, captains and vice captains, and the player limits of 3 per club (chips will not be feature of these weekly picks)
Each team must pick a Captain, labelled as (c) and a Vice Captain listed as (vc).

Fixture Prediction: 2017/18 Points Table
In our predictions a perfect score is 3 points, and predicting the right outcome is worth 1 point (aka if a team wins but, you predict it, but don't get the perfect score). Below is the Gameweek and overall rundown of our Premier League predictions series for the season.

Southampton 0-2 Man United
Stoke 0-2 Chelsea
Swansea 1-0 Watford
Leicester 1-3 Liverpool

FPL Forecasting: Gameweek 6
Best GW Attacking Options:
Liverpool (A) vs. Leicester
Man City (H) vs. Crystal Palace
Spurs (A) vs. West Ham
Burnley (H) vs. Huddersfield
Arsenal (H) vs. West Brom
Best GW Defensive / Clean Sheet Potential:
Chelsea (A) vs Stoke City
Spurs (A) vs. West Ham
Man United (A) vs. Southampton
Swansea (H) vs. Watford
Arsenal (H) vs. West Brom
Newcastle (A) vs. Brighton
Who would you Transfer In and Out for the Gameweek and beyond?:
IN: Benjamin Mendy, Matt Ritchie, Lukasz Fabianski, and Chris Wood.
OUT: Maya Yoshida, Tom Heaton, and Aaron Mooy
Who are the players that might make the difference this Gameweek in the Draft?:
Defences of Arsenal, Man United, Swansea, Newcastle, and Man City.
Attack of Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, and Arsenal.
Who are the teams to look out for?:
Newcastle: Rafa Benitez has done an amazing job with such limited resources. Matt Ritchie has hit his stride, Jamaal Lascelles has returned to scoring form, they are keeping clean sheets, and they are in a rich vein of form. Brighton aren’t in any sort of stride, and I expect a similar performance to the one against Swansea two Gameweek's ago from the Toon.
Man City: Goals, clean sheets, and a solid team balance with options all over the pitch to select for your fantasy teams.
Who are the teams to avoid?:
Crystal Palace: Flashbacks of Sunderland 2016/17 occur every time I think about the Eagles so far this year.
Watford: The Hornets had the sting taken out of the tails when Man City disassembled them, and Swansea showed defensive grit against Spurs which should carry through.
GW Differential Picks:
Chris Wood (BUR): Scoring goals for fun since his transfer to Burnley. Value option.
Jermain Defoe (BOU): Bournemouth are now two games undefeated since beating Brighton in two consecutive matches, and they travel to Everton who are shipping out goals in cargo sized crates.
FPL Captaincy Picks:
(C): Romelu Lukaku – Easy points by trusting in the Belgian forward.
(VC): Benjamin Mendy – Easy points by trusting Crystal Palace not to score.
Other Gameweek Comments:
Lots of defensive returns are potentially available this week, and if you are planning on using your wildcard the likes of Swansea and Newcastle have lots of value assets to consider. Elsewhere Liverpool will field Coutinho in midfield for the first league start of the season, and if he probes the Foxes defence like he did in the failed Cup fixture then it might just pay off for him.

Who would you Transfer In and Out for the Gameweek and beyond?: IN: Kolasinac, Sanchez, Eriksen, Aguero, Hazard. OUT: Welbeck, David Luiz, Davies, Mounie.
Who are the players that might make the difference this Gameweek in the Draft?: This week it’s worth looking at a punt on a Newcastle or Swansea option. Ritchie is the clear favourite but it’s unlikely he’s still available. Christian Atsu on the other hand should be available even in deep drafts. A favourable run of fixtures ahead and in good form.
Personally I’ve taken a risk and snapped up Zlatan ready for his return. Not advisable unless you have excellent squad depth.
GW Differential Picks:
Christian Atsu (NEW): Good Form. Check. Good Fixture. Check. Value for money. Check. All boxes checked.
FPL Captaincy Picks: (C): Harry Kane: Keeping faith despite another lacklustre performance at Home. An away trip to West Ham is the weekends opening fixture. Surely he can't blank again.
(VC): Sergio Aguero: everyone remember this guy right? A staple of FPL teams for so many years was almost forgotten. Fear of rotation is his only downfall.
Other Gameweek Comments: Don't forget about the big guns. Hazard and Sanchez are both back. Monitor the next two weeks to prep for wildcarding.
FPL Hype Picks: Gameweek 6 Formation: 3-4-3

Who would you Transfer In and Out for the Gameweek and beyond?:
IN: Benjamin Mendy, Matt Ritchie, Lukasz Fabianski, Federico Fernandez, Joselu, David Silva or any Man City player.
OUT: Maya Yoshida, Roberto Firmino, and Southampton players (they just a little off the pace).
Who are the players that might make the difference this Gameweek in the Draft?:
Differential defenders such as Lascelles, Fernandez, and Hoedt, might be good options to snap up in the coming weeks, if not already taken.
Attacking options are at a shortage right now, so the likes of Joselu might be an influential players in the next few weeks.
Who are the teams to look out for?:
Newcastle: Lascelles, Elliot, Ritchie, and Joselu. All are intriguing FPL options. Brighton should be a winnable game for Newcastle. The Toon did the double over Brighton last season.
Swansea: Three clean sheets from five matches this season. It's going to be an interesting game against Watford, and personally I'm hoping for a fourth clean sheet from six.
Liverpool: I've gone for the Reds to win, as even though they have the defensive capabilities of a side that should be fighting relegation, they can score goals at a whim when at it.
Who are the teams to avoid?:
Crystal Palace: Just a terrible team, in a terrible situation, with a terrible manager, facing the Premier League's in-form club.
Brighton: Newcastle did the double on them last season, and have momentum on their side.
Everton: I just don't fancy them in any match at the moment, and Bournemouth have just won their first game. Will be an interesting game.
GW Differential Picks:
Matt Ritchie (NEW): Four assists and on set-pieces. Ritchie should be in half of FPL squads, but isn't.
Nick Pope (BUR): Burnley and Huddersfield screams of a 0-0 draw. Any defensive option might be worth it. Ward and Pope for Burnley in particular.
FPL Captaincy Picks:
(C): Sergio Aguero – With Sam and Phil opting for alternative captains with Kane and Lukaku, one of us has to cover the Aguero potential against Crystal Palace.
(VC): Harry Kane – West Ham beat Spurs last season, but they're still underdogs in this one. Kane's been impressive this season and will be motivated to add to his two league goals this season..
Other Gameweek Comments:
With 4 of the 6 top six clubs from last season playing away from home, Arsenal and Man City can take the limelight this week, but I expect much more of the same this season.
I've been asking myself one question for a while now: when should I play my wildcard? I'm no closer to answering that question. The league is still unsettled in regards to a pattern of reliable players and fixtures to bank on.
