FANTASY FORECAST 2018/19: FPL Gameweek 24
Ahead of each Gameweek in the Fantasy Premier League, The Hype Train invites a special guest onto its Fantasy Forecast, where the three members of the Hype Team and its Special Guests will duel for FPL supremacy in predicting Premier League scores, as well as going head to head in picking a Scout Picks squad for the relevant Gameweek. In addition, we give our insight into who are the players to watch and those to drop, both for traditional FPL leagues and the Draft mode, as well as providing insight into captaincy picks, differentials for the week, and more. Welcome to the Forecast. All aboard.

Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 24 Deadline
For the 2016/17 Premier League season, the FPL deadline will be one hour before the commencement of the week's first game. The Premier League website lists each FPL deadline, you can always ask on social media, and you can also view a real time countdown on our Weekly Hype page.

How does our Forecasting work?
We have taken to our Hype Team, and the FPL Community, to compete in a weekly head to head dual of wits. We ask the questions that dominate each week in the Fantasy Premier League: who to pick, who to avoid, who to captain, and who may surprise. The three members of the Hype Team, and a Guest, will provide weekly insight for the Gameweek ahead.
For the sake of respecting the rules of the Forecast, we have provided an example of what we're sending out to interested parties that will feature throughout the season.
Premier League Fixture Prediction: As pundits, we are testing our football acumen with PL predictions and will be providing regular updated tables and stats in each edition of the FPL Forecast. A perfect score is worth 3 points whilst a correct result is worth 1 point.
FPL Gameweek Forecasting: Answering the regular questions that come up every single week in the Fantasy Premier League community that helps with identifying captaincy picks, transfers, attacking options, clean sheet potential, teams to look our for and avoid, players to consider for the Draft game, the wildcard differential players, as well as general analysis and comments.
Scout Picks: Picking a squad of 15 for a single Gameweek, without any budget, using the rules of the FPL - formations, captains and vice captains, and the player limits of 3 per club (chips will not be feature of these weekly picks)
Each team must pick a Captain, labelled as (c) and a Vice Captain listed as (vc).

Who are your essential Gameweek player picks?:
Mohamad Salah, Eden Hazard, Sergio Aguero, and Marcus Rashford. All the usual names.
Who are the teams to look out for?:
Man United: OGS is the gift that keeps on giving for fantasy managers, and at home against Burnley could just be yet another win and points for the likes of Pogba and Rashford.
Liverpool: Still top of the league, and hosting an out-of-form Leicester, the Reds are now in a position where they must play all their games after Man City in the next month, but I believe they are mature enough to get through.
Who are the teams to avoid?:
Spurs: The North London team have crashed out of both the cup competitions in the past week, and still have a very long injury list. Do not be surprised if the serial bottlers strike again.
West Ham: The Hammers got punished by Wimbledon who knocked them out of the FA Cup, highlighting why once again you cannot trust them. One day they are hot, the next they are freezing cold, and there appears to be no middle ground. They travel to Wolves and I can’t see how they will navigate out of this fixture with a result.
GW Differential Picks:
Gonzalo HiguaÃn has made his way to English football, and whilst a lot of people are ‘watching’ how the Argentine gets on, we are taking the plunge in banking on the new forward to start with a bang.
Other players to consider are Christian Eriksen, and a United defender.
FPL Captaincy Picks:
(C) Mohamad Salah – The King’s reign is a long one.
(VC) Marcus Rashford – The Prince has a long way to go to take the throne.
Other Gameweek Comments:
The Double Gameweek's are approaching, so is the Champions League knockout stages, and the cup replays. Rotation is abound.

Who are your essential Gameweek player picks?:
Liverpool and Man United are the heavy favourites for a big week, with Robertson, Salah, Pogba and Rashford the likely big-hitters.
Who are the teams to look out for?:
Southampton & Crystal Palace: Both sides are usually involved in high-scoring affairs against one another. Palace typically travel well to St Mary's so I've just got a hunch that this game might just have goals in it and Ings and Zaha might come back on to the Fantasy radar.
Watford: Spurs are there for the taking right now and maybe the well-rested Hornets might just put a further sting in the tail of Poch and his depleted team.
Liverpool: Leicester are god awful right now. A big win is incoming.
Brighton: The Seagulls have an amazing run of fixtures at hand, beginning with a trip to a Fulham side that can't fight their way out of a paper bag right now.
Who are the teams to avoid?:
Huddersfield: New Manager, same problems? Huddersfield just can't score.

FPL Captaincy Picks:
(C) Mohamad Salah – The King’s reign is a long one.
(VC) Sergio Aguero – Ahead of Gameweek 25's Double Gameweek, I can just see Aguero scoring to set up the captaincy talk for the week ahead.
Other Gameweek Comments:
Everton and Man City are playing twice next week. Everton are god awful and Man City will rotate. Is it even worth the risk?

Best GW Attacking Options:
Rashford

Pogba
Aubameyang
Best GW Defensive / Clean Sheet Potential:
Robertson
Kolasinac
Digne – Everton poor at the back of late but Digne’s attacking potential is one of the most threatening in the league.
Who are your essential Gameweek player picks?:
Salah
Pogba
Robertson
Who are the teams to look out for?:
Fulham – Looked threatening in attack against Spurs last time out, could get a much needed 3 points at home to Brighton.
Manchester United – 8 wins from 8 games under OGS and do not look like stopping this form against Burnley.
Southampton – Risky pick of sorts but can see them being a stretch too far for a Palace side who have just 4 points from their last 5 Premier League games.
Who are the teams to avoid?:
Tottenham – Look hopeless in attack after losing their talisman Kane until March, now joined on the side lines by Alli. I can see Spurs struggling this week, only the return of Son will be a slight boost however the Spurs man has said he pushed his body beyond the limits during the Asian Games and is said to be physically exhausted.
Huddersfield – A team with a new manager is always unpredictable and could yet prove me wrong if the new man in charge comes out firing this week against Everton, however they still have the same players they have had all year who look destined for the championship and until they can turn their season around, I see no FPL potential amongst their squad this year.
Cardiff - Up against the odds when they travel to the Emirates in GW24, I can see nothing other than a win for Arsenal who will be looking to focus on securing a top 4 spot this year having been dumped out of the FA cup on Friday night.
GW Differential Picks:
Jota (2%)
Kolasinac (4.3%)
Gross (1.5%)
De Bruyne (4%!)
Leno (2.2%)
FPL Captaincy Picks:
(C): Salah
(VC): Aubameyang
Other Gameweek Comments:
Sanchez (MNU) could prove a good pick for those looking to make up ground in mini-leagues if he starts.
Would not be surprised with an upset at Wembley as Spurs take on Watford and differential pick Deulofeu could give managers a reason to keep the faith.
I’m not sold on Jota just yet despite his hat-trick last week, will be one to monitor closely against West Ham, and another Haul could see him one of the most sought after FPL assets in coming weeks.
FPL Hype Picks: Gameweek 24
Formation: 3-4-3
Starting 11
GK: Allison – Most clean sheets in the league and one of the most reliable ways into a double Liverpool defence that has been so sought after this year. May not pick up the saves and bonus points which could contribute to a rare double figure GK haul, but looks a pretty reliable pick between the sticks in a GW full of difficult fixtures.
DEF: Robertson – BPS magnet. Doubling up with Allison as part of the most solid defence in the league, coupled with his attacking returns potential makes him one of, if not the only essential DEF pick in my opinion.
DEF: Kolasinac – Though Arsenal haven’t been the strongest at the back this year, his attacking threat over the year has been one of the most notable in the league, having more touches in the box than his own goalscoring team mate, Aubameyang! Not to mention Cardiff have scored just 1 goal in their last 5 league games.
DEF: Shaw – Unlucky to miss out last weekend after falling ill in the warm-up, Shaw is one of the first names on the teamsheet for United this year and is very much admired by his new manager as opposed to Mourinho where he somewhat was not in regular contention until this year. Though Burnley have had a little spike of form of late (3W 1D last 4 Premier League games) I still see United being too strong for Burnley and the LB can profit from the new attacking style of play from OGS.
MID: Salah (C) – The first name on my team sheet every week for FPL, regardless of the opponent. The most essential pick in the whole game for me with such a high ownership and potential for double figure hauls, Salah takes the captaincy for my Scout Pick Squad this week The focal point of one of the most potent attacks in the league, coming up against a Leicester defence who could be without their best DEF in Maguire, coupling that with Milner’s suspension meaning Salah will be on penalties, I wouldn’t be surprised with yet another double figure haul from the Egyptian.
MID: Pogba – Thriving under his new attacking role under OGS, Pogba looks to be playing his best football for United since he joined and will only look to continue his rich vain of form against a Burnley defence who have shipped the 3rd most goals in the league against them.
MID: Sane – Though we all know he is prone to ‘Pep Roulette’, when Leroy gets the nod over his fellow counterparts he tends to deliver, especially against the weaker sides and Newcastle have been one of the poorest teams in the league this season, finding themselves in a relegation dogfight. With Mendy still struggling with injury, I can see Sane starting against Newcastle this week and I don’t even think he will need to be near his best to deliver points for FPL managers in GW24.
MID: Sigurdsson – Somewhat a differential pick with his so highly owned team mate Richarlison being under the spotlight this year for playing up top and classed as a midfielder in the game. Siggy is the go to man when Everton need someone to step up and with Richarlison not quite firing of late I fancy him to take charge of this out of form Everton side and produce against a Huddersfield side who may be considered a tough away fixture having just brought in a new manager, but are still Huddersfield and have been appalling in the 18/19 season.
FOR: Aubameyang (VC) – Was a toss-up between Auba and Salah for the captaincy this week and I would bet this will show come GW24 when they will be set to be the 2 most captained this week. He thrives against lesser opposition and Cardiff have been woeful this year, I wouldn’t back against a goal or 2 for the Arsenal man who could find himself taking home a hatful of FPL points.
FOR: Rashford – The most in form striker of late with a goal in each of his last 4 Premier League appearances, coupled with a pair of assists in that time, Rashford has been brought in by the hundreds of thousands of FPL managers in recent weeks and I fancy the United goal scorer to continue his red hot form against a leaky Burnley defence.
FOR: Ings – Desperately unlucky to be struggling with injuries since he signed for Southampton, the striker has still managed a number of goals this year despite reduced minutes. Palace are a strange team to predict of late, producing against the better teams of the league and somewhat falling short against the weaker sides. I fancy Ings to mirror his performance of the reverse fixture with at least a goal against an unpredictable Palace side.
Substitutes
GK: Leno
