In addition, we give our insight into who are the players to watch and those to drop, as well as providing insight into captaincy picks, differential players for the week, and more. Welcome to the Forecast. All aboard.

MLS Fantasy: Week 14 Deadline

For the 2019 MLS Fantasy season there is a 'Rolling Lockout', which means you can make substitutions and transfers until the second a player's game kicks off, which means you can chop and change your lineup as any Week progresses.

How does our Forecasting work?

The Hype Team will compete in a weekly head to head dual of wits. The 3 members of the team will provide weekly insight for the Gameweek ahead, providing score predictions, a Scout Picks squad that follows MLS Fantasy rules, and will provide what insight they can for the fixtures at hand.

  • MLS Fixture Prediction: As pundits, we are testing our football acumen with MLS predictions and will be providing regular updated tables and stats in each edition of the MLS Forecast. A perfect score is worth 3 points whilst a correct result is worth 1 point. An incorrect score is worth nothing.

  • Blank Box: We've left an open space for the team to write that helps with the Gameweek hustle; identifying captaincy picks, transfers, attacking options, clean sheet potential, teams to look our for and avoid, differential players, as well as general analysis and comments.

  • Patterns of play this week for MLS Fantasy players:

MLS Fantasy: Week 14 Insight

10 teams have a Double Gameweek:

Atlanta United

Minnesota United

Montreal Impact

Real Salt Lake

Philadelphia Union

Colorado Rapids

D.C. United

Chicago Fire

Sporting KC

LA Galaxy

Teams to look out for:

Atlanta, Montreal, D.C. United, Sporting and Philadelphia

Teams to avoid:

Real Salt Lake and Colorado Rapids... It might not be a good week for the Rocky Mountain sides.

Teams out to cause a few shocks for Fantasy players:

Chicago Fire have been playing quite well and I'm quite tempted by one or more of their players in an autoroo capacity this week.

Potential rotation risks:

I'm a bit wary of Miles Robinson after Atlanta rotated him for their last Double Gameweek, meaning Gonzalez Perez and Guzan are more reliable options.

The same could be said for Brilliant (DC), though with United looking to consolidate top spot in the East over Philly, surely they won't rotate him?

I think that given the options in midfield this week, Fantasy players will stack the deck in attack, with Martinez (ATL), Rooney (DC) and Ibrahimovic (LA) a likely trio this week.

In defence, Bush (MTL) or Diallo (MTL) will be solid picks, whilst after being burnt in previous weeks with rotation, Gonzalez Perez and Guzan will be locks defensively for Atlanta.

Midfield is a bit all over the place, but I'm thinking that dos Santos (LA) and Johnny Russell (SKC) will be the must-haves this week.

Captaincy considerations:

Josef Martinez will probably get my seal of approval due to Wayne Rooney's roller-coaster form this season. Zlatan might come back as the third wheel to spit me this week.

Is there room for Carlos Vela this week?

Unfortunately, no. LAFC are visiting Portland Timbers for Providence Park's recent face-lift. It'll be a tough game to call if form is to by, and even though the Mexican international justifies his price-tag, there is a higher-ceiling elsewhere this week.
