FANTASY FORECAST 2019/20: FPL Gameweek 6

Ahead of each Gameweek in the Fantasy Premier League, The Hype Train's three front-men, Robert Austin, Sam Austin and Phil Jones, duel for FPL supremacy in predicting Premier League scores, as well as going head to head in picking a Scout Picks squad for each round of games. In addition, we provide general insight that we believe might be relevant for FPL players, such as our personal captaincy picks, differentials for the week, and more. Welcome to the Forecast. All aboard.

Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 6 Deadline

For the 2019/20 Premier League season, the FPL deadline will be one hour before the commencement of the week's first game. Our website provides a real-world countdown timer for the the upcoming Gameweek, whilst you can read our latest Fantasy articles from the season on our 2019/20 FPL weekly hype sub-section.

How does our Forecasting work?

For three years we invited guests from the FPL Community to tackle us with picks for the upcoming Gameweek in Fantasy Premier League. We'll be taking a break from inviting guests onto this article for a year, and have introduced a new feature, Fantasy 5's, which we'll be asking weekly guests their top pick in each position ahead of each Gameweek.

For the sake of respecting the rules of the Forecast, we have provided an example of what we're sending out to interested parties that will feature throughout the season.

  • Premier League Fixture Prediction: As pundits, we are testing our football acumen with PL predictions and will be providing regular updated tables and stats in each edition of the FPL Forecast. A perfect score is worth 3 points whilst a correct result is worth 1 point.

  • FPL Gameweek Forecasting: Answering the regular questions that come up every single week in the Fantasy Premier League community that helps with identifying captaincy picks, transfers, attacking options, clean sheet potential, teams to look our for and avoid, players to consider for the Draft game, the wildcard differential players, as well as general analysis and comments.

  • Scout Picks: Picking a squad of 15 for a single Gameweek, without any budget, using the rules of the FPL - formations, captains and vice captains, and the player limits of 3 per club (chips will not be feature of these weekly picks)

  • Each team must pick a Captain, labelled as (c) and a Vice Captain listed as (vc).

FPL Forecasting: Gameweek 6

Top FPL transfer targets for the weekend:

Roberto Firmino (LIV): Liverpool’s best player this season is making the attack purr.

Sadio Mane (LIV): Liverpool’s midfielder was at the double against Newcastle, and he also scored two ridiculous goals against Chelsea in the Super Cup in August.

Hueng-Min Son (TOT): The Korean is back to form and is a real handful when he is firing on all cylinders.

Martin Dubravka (NEW): I really rate Dubravka, and Newcastle’s home form will be imperative to their season, and against Brighton this is going to be a low scoring affair for both sides.

Who are the teams to look out for and avoid?:

Chelsea (Avoid): Chelsea cannot defend. They go up against the best forwards in the Premier League on Sunday and I can see the Blues getting torn up.

Arsenal (Watch*): The asterisk attached to their watch label this week is because the Gunners will score goals in this fixture, defending them is another issue altogether. Arsenal have conceded the most shots in Europe’s top eight, yes…eight, leagues.

Man United (Avoid): I have a feeling that Man United are in a banana peel fixture, and usually this is the ‘one big game’ a season that the Hammers tend to win.

FPL Captaincy Picks:

(C) – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (ARS): Despite the mess of Arsenal’s defence, they have a Golden Boot winner in their attack. This is the exact type of fixture that keeps Arsenal challenging for European places, and I expect Auba to have a big Gameweek.

(VC) – Mohamad Salah (LIV): The Egyptian King loves a goal against the Blues, and the Reds winger has been in great form to start the season and we expect Liverpool to bounce back after their loss in Naples to start their Champions League campaign.

FPL Forecasting: Gameweek 6

Top FPL transfer targets for the weekend:

Roberto Firmino (LIV): A cheaper alternative that is finding points on a regular basis.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (ARS): 5 from 5 for returns this season. Looks a threat in each game and has some good fixtures to contend with.

Hueng-Min Son (TOT): Good fixtures and showing signs of good form.

Who are the teams to look out for and avoid?:

Newcastle (Avoid): A good home fixture doesn't mean we'll turn up against Brighton. This is exactly the fixture we'll lose. I hope not though.

Wolves (Avoid): Wolves were tepid against Braga and they're struggling with their Europa League schedule. There's no rhythm and I'd be worried about them both in an attacking and defensive perspective.

Man United (Avoid): I have a feeling that Man United are in a banana peel fixture, and usually this is the ‘one big game’ a season that the Hammers tend to win.

FPL Captaincy Picks:

(C) – Mohamed Salah (LIV): Every time I don't captain Salah, he scores. Not this week. The Chelsea game will have goals in it, so Mo is my man this week.

(VC) – Sergio Aguero (MCI): Aguero's been in the points this season and looks like he'll spite a lot of players who continue to ignore him in favour of Raheem.
